Locking

Aborean Finance employs two distinct tokens to handle its functionality and governance:

$ABX — ERC-20 functional token of the protocol

ve$ABX — ERC-721 governance token represented as an NFT (non-fungible token)$ABX is allocated to liquidity providers via emissions.$ABX serves governance purposes. Any $ABX holder can vote-escrow their holdings and obtain a ve$ABX (also referred to as Lock or veNFT) in return. Further tokens may be deposited to the ve$ABX NFT whenever needed.The locking duration (also referred to as vote-escrowed duration, hence the ve prefix) can extend up to 4 years, adhering to the linear ratio demonstrated below:

100 $ABX locked for 4 years will convert to 100 ve$ABX

100 $ABX locked for 1 year will convert to 25 $veABXThe extended the locking duration, the greater the voting power (voting weight) of the secured balance.Furthermore, Aborean Locks (veNFTs) can be configured with Auto-Max Lock, which means the protocol considers them as locked for the full 4-year period, and their voting power remains constant. The Auto-Max Lock option can be enabled or disabled for individual Locks (veNFTs).
