How it Works

Aborean employs a vote-escrowed token (veABX) model to align long-term incentives and governance:

• Locking Mechanism

Users lock tokens for a fixed duration to receive non-transferable veTokens representing governance power.

• Voting Power

veToken holders vote on emission allocations, protocol upgrades, and key decisions.

• Incentive Alignment

Longer lock durations grant greater voting power, encouraging sustained commitment.

• Fee Sharing

veToken holders receive a portion of fees generated by supported pools, aligning rewards with active participation.

Aborean uses vote-escrowed ABX (veABX) for decentralised governance. Token holders can lock ABX to receive veABX and direct emissions, vote on key parameters, and signal ecosystem priorities.

Voting periods align with emission epochs. The weight of a vote is determined by the amount of ABX locked and the lock duration. This mechanism ensures that those most invested in the long-term health of the protocol shape its direction.

Protocol upgrades, parameter adjustments, and treasury usage are all subject to veABX governance.
